Franchi Sementi is the oldest family-run seed company in the world. Founded in 1783, it is still in the same family today as seeds of genuine Italian heirloom varieties have been saved and passed down from generation to generation.

We recommend using the best freshest quality seed-raising mix (rather than garden soil, compost or potting mix). Start off inside in a suitable container such as a seed tray or egg carton. Don’t sow too deeply for very fine seeds – just press lightly into the mix. Spray to keep moist but don’t over water. And once germinated, get the seedling into some quality light to prevent a spindly pale-looking plat. As soon as seedlings are hardy enough, transport them to the where they’ll grow and fruit.
